APC Youths in Oyo state under the aegis of Oyo Progressive Youths Forum (OPYF) has blasted the Governor Kayode Fayemi over his recent move to bring warring factions of Oyo APC leaders together.
The youths described the move as a “ desperate move by a cunning politician who is struggling very hard to redeem his bad image”.
The Youths, in a statement released by the State Coordinator described the move as a “desperate move by a cunning politician who is struggling very hard to redeem his bad image”.
They said that Fayemi’s move to end the crisis rocking the party in the State was nothing but an eye service, charade and needless. The coordinator of the group lamented that, the Ekiti State Governor was the cause of most of the problems rocking the party in the State, noting that, his efforts led to the loss of the party to the opposition party in the State.
“ Our attention has been drawn to a reconciliation meeting purportedly being hosted by the Governor of Ekiti State in Ibadan. The meeting which was reported to have been conveyed by the Governor is nothing but a lie from the pit of hell. Ordinarily, Fayemi lacks the moral and power to meddle in the affairs of the party, because he is never the chairman of the NWC caretaker committee nor the leader of the party in the State. He is purely unknown to the party in the State.
“The truth of the matter is that, the aggrieved leaders of Oyo APC have been meeting regularly in order to bring lasting solution to the internal crisis rocking the party. Our leaders such as Alao Akala, Adeboye Adelabu, Adebayo Shittu,Senators Soji Akanbi and Ayo Adeseun, and Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi,and many others have been meeting consistently and carefully in order to ensure APC is more formidable ahead of future elections. This efforts led to the return of one of the party leader, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin back to the progressive fold.
“Therefore on this fateful day, Oyo APC leaders were having their meeting before the former Governor of Oyo State, Alao Akala and few APC State leaders were maliciously manipulated to attend to the message being sent to them without knowing that Fayemi was the one who sent for them under a false pretense.
“However, it is on record that the meeting was only called for clout chasing and media certification. The Governor personally knew he is never in the right position to settle the grievances in the party, owning to the fact that, he (Fayemi), has a major stake in the party’s failure in the last general election.”, The group explained
