InsightnaijaTV reports that Reno Omokri, a loyalist and former adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s lone hope of becoming the party’s flag-bearer in the party’s primary elections.
In a Twitter post on Thursday, Omokri analyzed the current tension in the APC ahead of the 2023 general elections, saying that Osinbajo has no chance if the ruling party adopts direct democratic free, and fair primaries.
The author of the book argues that APC national leader Bola Tinubu, Senate President Ahmad Lawan, and former Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi have a better chance of becoming the party’s presidential candidate in 2023.
Omokri believes that Osinbajo’s only chance of becoming the APC’s presidential flag-bearer is through a consensus candidacy.
His tweet reads: “I think by now it has dawned on Osinbajo that if APC primaries are by direct democratic free and fair primaries, he will be disgraced! He won’t even come second. It will be Tinubu first, and Amaechi or Lawan second. His only hope is a consensus candidacy. Am I lying?”
