Peter Obi, a presidential candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), warned on Monday that Nigeria’s daily groans of insecurity were driving the country into a state of collapse.
Obi made the remark while visiting Taraba State PDP delegates ahead of the party’s presidential primaries in Jalingo.
He bemoaned the fact that the country’s economy was rapidly deteriorating and driving it into a failed state, stating that the people’s future should not be tampered with.
Nigerians, he believes, require a leader who would shift the narrative and reposition the country to ensure the future of its population.
“The nation’s economy is sinking on a daily basis and the insecurity status is increasing to a higher pick.
“The country’s situation now needs a president that understands the economy and is willing to handle insecurity to its drastic point.
“We need to move from sharing formula to production formula for the nation to reclaim her giant status,” Obi lamented.
While commenting, Governor Darius Ishaku stated that Nigerians should pick between leaving in a Nigeria of promise, which would improve their children’s future, or leaving in a Nigeria of kidnapping, which has left the people in a shamble with no future.
Peter Obi, according to Ishaku, is an outstanding candidate who can best fix the Nigeria of the people’s dreams.
Dr. Doyin Okupe, the campaign’s director general, had reminded delegates that they were in Taraba not to campaign for Peter Obi as a person, but for a better Nigeria.
The contender has distinguished himself throughout his time as governor of Anambra state, according to the (DG), and has demonstrated his leadership qualities, demonstrating that he is capable of restoring the nation’s lost grandeur and constructing the Nigeria that is desired.
