According to Governor Charles Soludo, Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) may win the presidential election in Anambra State on February 25, 2023, but it is extremely doubtful that Obi will win the national election for president of Nigeria.
The Anambra State Governor said in an interview that aired on Channels Television Politics Today on Thursday night that his state has its own candidate and cannot endorse Peter Obi despite the fact that both men are from the same state. He did, however, wish his predecessor well in the election.
Additionally, Soludo claimed that by allowing Obi to utilise government facilities free of charge on two different occasions., he had fairly supported Obi’s ambition.
In the 2023 elections, Peter Umeadi, an Anambra native and presidential candidate for the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), will have the state’s formal backing, according to Soludo.

Soludo claimed that even if the Labour Party candidate wins in his home state of Anambra, he can’t win the national presidential election, citing his letter from November 2022 in which he chastised Obi for running for president in 2023.
He stated: “I wish Peter Obi the best of luck. Let him go and compete as others.
“We (APGA) are also competing in the same race. We have our own candidate (Peter Umeadi), who is also son of the soil, coincidentally from Anambra State as well, and he will do his own bit, get his own votes.”
“In that piece, I even considered that Peter Obi might win in Anambra State. I did mention that,” he said.
